Does anyone have any good workout music I should put on my gym playlist? I need some hardcore motivation!
Just because you get along well with someone...

It’s a really good idea to join a gym right when it opens because nobody else will belong for a while. It’s also a really good idea to work from home so you can go at all random times of the day.

– Charlie Smith, “The Meaning of Birds” From Lorrie Moore’s Birds of America One of my favorite quotes ever from the inscription from one of my favorite books ever.
Social Networking Wars from Current TV I seriously don’t think I’ve laughed this hard sitting in a room by myself in a long time. I used to be afraid Myspace was going to come after me too. “Dude, forget the skanks; you’ve got a Fun Wall.” Via Laughing Squid
Much atwitter about nothing? →
Twitter has been everywhere lately. People still don’t get it. I’m finally starting to really get it. It took a while, but then again, I was also pretty unimpressed by Facebook in the beginning. Maybe this post by MG Siegler of VentureBeat will help you get it.
How We Use Twitter For Journalism →
Probably the best explanation I’ve seen on why Twitter is a valuable tool. via ReadWriteWeb
My sister wants to know what bars in Boston are for Cubs fans. HAHAHAHA. I’m sorry? There are baseball teams other than the Red Sox? I don’t think we knew that here.
BTW, teen writing may cause teachers to :( →
I think I grew up at the perfect time. I learned to write properly, but I was still introduced to the Internet at a pretty young age. This allowed me to properly weave it into my life, knowing when and where it should be utilized. I remember and appreciate what life was like before the Internet, but I also grew up learning to use it to better my life :) :) :) kthnksbai
Pride comes before a tumble - Los Angeles Times →
hilker: (via david) - just wait till he discovers twitter. Great column. From Paul Scheer: “I love Tumblr…It’s like cheating on your blog. Why do I have to write a whole blog post when I can just write down this funny thing?” I am SO cheating on my blog with Tumblr…sometimes I feel bad, but mostly it’s sort of liberating.
The results for all the various Myers Briggs tests I took online were the same. Every time I got the same personality (out of 16 different ones) no matter what how the test was structured. The results basically say my personality type is, “Deep-felt, intense caring and idealism. Skilled communicator, drawn to ideas, adaptability and concern for possibilities.” -Most important feature...
Anyone know where I can find a Myers Briggs test that’s somewhat legit?? I know it won’t be “official” unless it’s the real thing, but I’m looking for something that is as close as possible.

Isabella Stuart Gardener →
Apparently if your name is Isabella, you can get into the Isabella Stuart Gardener Museum for free, forever. I would definitely be taking advantage of this if I was an Isabella.
I guess I am an idealist.

– Ryan Adams I love this, from RA’s blog, which is allegedly back again. What do ya know.
Livemocha- Learn a language online! →
I’ve been checking this site out for a while, waiting and waiting for them to offer Japanese…and now they do! It looks like a reallyyy cool system for learning a language online within a community. I’m trying it out to see how I can improve my Japanese…and when I say improve, I mean learn the basics. Livemocha is currently in beta….try it out if you want to learn a...

White people like marathons →
“If you find yourself in a situation where a white person is talking about a marathon, you must be impressed or you will lose favor with them immediately. Running for a certain length of time on a specific day is a very important thing to a white person and should not be demeaned.”
Granting myself this state holiday off and going out to enjoy Patrtiots Day, the Marathon, and Red Sox in Boston! Thankfully, the weather this year is a bit nicer than last.
etrangere:Facebook chat?! DO NOT WANT.
Is there anything worse than seeing the most adorable baby ever and saying to the mother “omg he’s sooo cute!!” and having the mom say, “yes, yes she is.” Well I feel like a schmuck.
Time Management →
I’m a big fan of Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert. His blog is hilarious and yesterday’s post on time management was perfect for me. Basically he figures your life goes like this: Sleep: 8 hours Exercise: 1 hour Work: 8 hours Eating: 2 hours (leisurely) Hygiene: 1 hour Travel: 1 (Commute, errands) That leaves you three hours for family time, sex, shopping, food preparation, chores,...
Writing compulsions
karmcity: marco: I will almost always put the punctuation outside of the quotation marks if it wasn’t part of the original quoted string: Like this: I will never write “the fact that”, Not like this: I will never write “the fact that,” I recognize that the latter is the convention for American English, but I don’t like it. I think it’s misleading, because it creates the ambiguity about whether the...
