I realize this is a total “first world/white girl” problem or whatever, but still. We’re in the process of planning our wedding and it’s been such a huge process to find a venue. We finally have it down to a couple places and are pretty sure about one… but it’s SO difficult to communicate with the venue coordinators. They say they’ll call and they don’t. I e-mail questions and they don’t respond. I don’t get it! If someone basically told you “hey, I’m likely going to drop $27K+ on your business as soon as you tell me how an appetizer costs,” would you wait a week before responding to them??
We’re definitely not being as aggressive as we could be, but the thing is, I don’t feel like we should have to be. Not that I want places to fight for our business, but show us that you want our money and that you’ll be here for us throughout the whole wedding planning process. The last thing I want is to go through a whole year+ of having to struggle every time I need to communicate with the venue.
Is this just a Boston thing? We had big dreams of having a Boston wedding, but if everyone the venues are so rude and impersonal, maybe we have to re-think. After months of searching, I’m just ready to know where and when our wedding will be!
